Concrete & timber posts - Feather Edge (Closeboard)

A popular and robust choice for creating private and secure boundaries.

The overlapping vertical feather edge boards fixed to horizontal rails offer excellent security and effectively block views.

Typically similar in price to panel fencing. The concrete posts add extra stability and longevity.

Concrete & timber posts - Panels

A versatile way to establish boundaries quickly using pre-made fence panels slotted between concrete or timber posts.

Offers good privacy and a level of security depending on the panel type. Often similarly priced to feather edge fencing.

Many styles are available.

Tongue & groove

Creates a very solid and private barrier with its interlocking boards, enhancing security due to its robust construction and lack of gaps.

It also offers a clean and aesthetically pleasing finish.

Picket / palisade

Primarily decorative for marking boundaries rather than high security.

The spaced pales offer an open feel but can deter casual intrusion.

Hit & miss fencing

Features boards alternately placed on either side of the rails, creating a solid visual barrier while also allowing for airflow.

This design makes it less prone to wind force compared to completely solid fencing.

Trellis & slatted screening
